Wood Cemetery, near Drynob,
Missouri
Located on Delta Road in Osage Township 34N, Range 14 West
in Section 23. From Lebanon head East on Hwy East 32, after
passing Drynob, turn left on Delta Road. Cross over two creeks.
The second creek is known as either the Campbell Creek or the Core creek
depending on which map you are viewing. After you pass the second
creek, turn left into the first gate before the first house. Walk
or drive past the barn till you find the cemetery.
On the 3rd day of January, 1876, Isom Wood purchased this land from
Edward A. J. Munholland. According to the book "Laclede County, MO
Civil War 1861-1865 Veterans" compiled by Charlene Hopkins, Isom Wood
was born April 1832 and died December 1892 and was buried in the Wood's
Cemetery. According to the "Laclede County Rural Cemeteries Volume
III Revised Edition", Isom Wood's grave site is not mentioned.
Many graves, in this cemetery are marked by field stones.
Therefore, only through family tradition and other sources such as
obituaries can it be found who all is buried here.
