The Smith Township is located in Township 35N, Ranges 14 - 15 West in Laclede County.  This township borders the Mayfield, Auglaize and Osage Townships of Laclede County and the Counties of Camden and Pulaski.  The main communities are as follows:

Collecting wolf bounties in Lebanon - 1948

This photo of hunters from the Simlin and Hazelgreen areas in 1948 are shown with the wolves they killed on a hunt.  They are shown in front of the Laclede County Courthouse where they went to collect their bounties.  First row, left to right:  Ernest McDaniel, Joe Pearcy and Leroy Allen; back row:  Joey Harrill, Preston Woody and Hugh McClure Sr.
