Phillipsburg High School
Reflected below is a 1928/29 picture of the student attending
Phillipsburg High School. My grandmother, Nora Rich Chambers, is on
the bottom row second from the right. Martha

has identified that Minnie
Shank Greninger is on the right end of the middle row - this is her aunt
that is still living. If you know who the others are,
please let me know so that I can add their name to this page.
Phillipsburg High School closed in 1957. The Reorganization of C-1 and
C-3 districts had (finally) passed and all high school students went to
Conway after that, but it took 16 more ballots for voters to pass bonds for
the new buildings. The new high school opened in 1962. (Source Joyce

This picture was found amongst my grandmother's personal photo collection.
She had inscribed on the back 'Phillipsburg High School 1928-1929,
Teachers Mr. & Mrs. C. H. Alexander.
