About the Osage Township

The Osage Township is located in 34N Range 15 & 14 West.  The main communities are as follows:

bulletAbo, Township 34N, Range 14W, Section 3.  Originally known as 'Ballinger's Mill.
bulletDrynob, Township 34N, Range 14W, Section 22.  Originally known as 'Dry Knob'.
bulletOakland, Township 34N, Range 15W, Section 26.

Early Settlers

In 1844 and 1845 the first settlers to purchase land from the US Government in the Osage Township were:

James Campbell, 80 acres in section 22

Jacob Cobb, 40 acres in section 31

Robert Faires, 400 acres in sections 8, 17, 20 and 21

This church was organized in 1909.
