The Hyde Family
My Hyde line starts with a bit of a mystery. My earliest known ancestor on that line is James Samuel Hyde who was born around 1848 in Georgia or Alabama. He was dead by the 1880 census in Greene County, Arkansas. James married Rebecca Cathern Lenderman who was born 22 Nov 1850 in Cherokee County, Alabama and died 22 May 1910 in Paragould, Arkansas. After James died, Rebecca married John E. Watson on 31 Jan 1886.
James Samuel Hyde and Rebecca Cathern Lenderman had the following children:
1. Christian Elizabeth Hyde (28 Nov 1867-06 Aug 1939) who married David Hiram Dewitt Clinton Smith and had the following children: Walter, Frank, Eva, William Samuel, Carl, Nancy Cara, Oscar and Eunice Almous.
2. John Thomas Hyde (31 Mar 1873-04 Aug 1958) who married Clara and had children: Minnie O., William E. and Edward D..
3. Edward L. Hyde (12 Jan 1875-22 Jul 1905) who married Amber (Nelms) Williams and had a son Dalford Hyde.
4. Jasper Emmette Hyde (05 Oct 1877-01 May 1931) who married Carrie Rebecca Wilson and had the following children: Emmette E. (died young), Orvel (died young), Clyde Jason, Lurie, Claud Alfred, Bessie, J.L., Edward L. and Geraldine.

5. Dr Walter E. Hyde (05 Oct 1879-30 Sep 1916) who married Malissa McCracken and had a son Dalford Hyde who died at 14 months old.
Claud Alfred Hyde married Ruby Turpin. They are my great grandparents. All of their children are still living except for Orville Gene Hyde who was shot at age 13 in 1960.
