Note: The witnesses to this marriage were John Bresnahan (probably Edward's brother) and Bridget Donovan.

The following was given to me by Edward Reedy in July, 2001:

Copied from Margaret Bresnan Tueth's "The Teachings of the Catholic Church". This was copied by her from an old bible on January 26, 1892.

Marriage Certificate -- This is to certify that Edweard Bresnan and Mary Tuohy of the Parish of ? Geran and County of Limerick were united together in Holy Matrimony at the Catholic Church on the second day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty-seven in the presence of John Bresnan (and) John Tuohy by Rev. John Murphy.

By the Parish Registry I find that Edwd. Bresnihan and Mary Touhy of Templebreden, Co. Limerick, were married 2d December 1837 in the presence of John Bresnihan and Bridgt Donavan. (signed) Revd. James Ryan, p.p., Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick, March, 1867. (This is probably a transcript of an affadavit by Father Ryan attesting to the marriage of Edward Bresnahan and Mary Touhy.)
