Transcript of obituary from Lovington Reporter, Feb. 19, 1937:

Edward Bresnan, 81, resident in and near Dalton City for 75 years, died at 9:25 p.m.Sunday in his home. He had been ill for one year and seriously ill for six weeks.

He was born in Bath County, Ky., Oct. 30, 1855, and came to Illinois in a stage coach with his parents, who settled near Dalton City. He was married to Mary Ann Hughes in St. Isidore's church east of Dalton City in 1890. He engaged in farming until he retired 20 years ago. He was a member of the Sacred Heart church at Dalton City.

He leaves his widow and two children, Edward Bresnan, of Lovington and Mrs. Will Heneberry of Bethany. There are seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Sacred Heart Catholic church of Dalton City at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial was in St. Isidore's cemetery.
