Note: The following was received via e-mail from Margaret Whippee, of the DeMarr/Craycroft line:
Woodville Methodist Church Cemetery (now gone, originally a Methodist-Epis. Church, I am told) Many of my family are buried there, with no markers. The land was donated by local families, among them were John Perrie Craycroft and Mary E. Craycroft. Land donated Oct. 18, 1850.
In Prince George's County Land Records Liber ON#1, folio 13, dated October 18, 1850, the following deed is recorded: John Perrie Craycroft and Mary E. Craycroft conveyed land to Albert H. Scott, James Naylor, Lloyd M. Scott, Jno J. Wilson, Sam L. Selby Samuel W. Casey, Fielder W. Cross and parcel of land to be used by above men as Trustees for creating a Methodist-Episcopal Church. $50.00.
Since the above are Aquasco area surnames, it may be that the deed was to land for the erection of one of the churches at Woodville.
