Text: Albert J. Thompson is next to the eldest child of a family of five boys and one girl born to J.H. Thompson, and of these children only our subject and a sister are now living, she being the junior. Albert J. was born January 25, 1852 in Meade County. His marriage was celebrated October 10, 1871, with Miss Ellen E., daughter of Charles Alexis and Sally A. (Hagan) CRAYCROFT. To them have been born Anna K., Christine E., James H. (deceased), John, Ira, Robert Walter and William Raymond. He secured a good English education, and is a man well skilled in current topics, besides having made considerable progress in the study of the higher branches. He is a farmer on a large scale, owning over 850 acres of well improved land in a fine state of cultivation. He is a member, with his wife of the Catholic Church, and in politics is a Democrat.
