"He left the homeplace to his two sons, John F and Leonard, Jr., excepting the wife's dower which was to be laid off for her according to specific directions in the will. John F was to have that part which included his buildings and other improvements and son Leonard was to have all east and south which would include the "mansion house where I now live", my mills, barn and buildings of every kind. He also received part of the Pine Ridge Survey, the other part going to sons David and Leonard... also mentioned in will are daughters Polly Wisely, Rachel and Betsy Straw. (Whythe Cunty Will Book 3, p.274).
