Spessard Stone of Wauchula has published Lineage of John Carlton, a history of Florida’s Carlton family whose members include former Governor Doyle Carlton. The 149-page, softcover book contains detailed genealogical charts and narrative descriptions of this early and influential pioneer family..

Note by Spessard Stone: Six editions were self-published in 1991, 1993, and 1998. The sixth edition, published in September 1998, had 332 pages. The book is now out of print.
