BINNEY HENDRY FAMILY




Barnabas Binney Hendry, son of James Madison Hendry and Mary Jane (Payne) Hendry, was born February 17, 1885, Arcadia, Florida and died February 15, 1958, Florence, South Carolina with burial in Florence County Memorial Gardens. In 1910, probably at Charleston, South Carolina, Binney married Elizabeth Young, who was born in 1888 and died in 1918, probably at Florence, South Carolina.
Binney (as he was known) moved to Charleston in 1905 and then to Florence in 1918. He was for 30 years a conductor on the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad on the run between Florence and Savannah. He was a member of the Order of Railroad Conductors and Immanuel Baptist Church of Florence.
