Introduction: Zilla Ann Hendry, daughter of Robert Calvin Hendry and Nancy Virginia McEwen Hendry, was born February 1872, Fort Green, Florida; died 1956 at Fort Myers, Florida. On April 30, 1894 in DeSoto County, Florida, she married Joseph J. "Seph" Granger. He was born April 1870 and died in 1908 from tuberculosis.
Seph worked in the clerk of court's office in DeSoto County, and later owned a grove at Gardner and also farmed. After Seph's death, Zilla moved to Fort Myers, Florida where she had a dressmaking shop. She also later lived for a time with her aunts, Mary (Mrs. Lewis Carlton) and Martha (Mrs. Albert Carlton) in Wauchula.

1. Busby W. Granger, born Sep 1895, Arcadia, FL; died ____; married M. E. Williams. Busby, at his death, was superintendent of the prison farm at Belle Glade, FL.
Issue:
a. Walter Busby Granger. In 1972 he was with the F.B.I. in St. Petersburg, FL.
2. Bessie Granger, born in Aug. 1897, Arcadia, FL; died March 28, 1986, Lakeland, FL; married
in 1916 James Asbury Gunnin. He was born Feb. 12, 1879; died April 1952. They are
buried in the Fort Myers City Cemetery.
Survivors included her daughters, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and sister,
Virginia Hoover.

a. Granger Gunnin, born ca. 1919; married Betty ______. They lived in California. Issue: 2 children.
b. Thalma Gunnin, born Jan. 13, 1921; died May 24, 1993; married Ralph Fussell. They lived at Lakeland, FL. Issue: 4 children.
c. Winifred "Tony" Gunnin, born ca. 1924; single. She was an obstetrics nurse and lived at Lakeland, FL.
3. Robert Granger, born in Sept. 1899, Arcadia, FL; died in a hunting accident Nov. 24, 1921.
4. Virginia Granger, born ca. 1902, Arcadia, FL; married (1) Pat Anderson of Williston, FL;
they lived in Fort Myers, FL; (2) Dr. Claude Hoover.

b. Robert Anderson, who was a Fort Myers, FL doctor.
c. Emmett Anderson, who was an attorney.
