Pioneer’s Grace



Note by Spessard Stone: My mother Anne Hendry Stone recently recited the following grace of Marion G. Roberts (1881-1965), a pioner settler of the New Zion settlement of Hardee County, Florida.


Oh Lord, look down upon us,

And keep our neighbors from us,

Sometimes they come upon us,

And take our rations from us.
