THE FUNERAL OF MRS C. COXHEAD - 1934 - Isle of Wight ![]()

We regret to announce the death of Mrs Rhoda Amelia Coxhead (nee Nicholas), which occured in her sleep on Saturday last at the home of her daughter, Mrs P. Farrow, at Guildford. after less then a week's illness.
Mrs Coxhead, who was 73 years of age, was a native of Ventnor, and was sister of Mrs. W. J. Hamilton, of Blendworth Terrace, and of the late Mr. Albert Nicholas. Her husband, who died 27 years ago, will be remembered as the driver of the Royal Marine Hotel bus for many years.Mrs Coxhead was formerly associated with The Congregational Church and in her younger days she was a teacher in the Sunday School. She leaves a family of three sons and three daughters with whom, and other members of the family, much symphaty is felt.
The remains were brought to Ventnor on Wednesday, and the Funeral Service was held in the Congretational Church. The Reverand W. H. Marshall officiating.
The mourners were: Messrs George, Ted and Louis Coxhead her sons. Mrs E. Chandler, and Mrs C. Whelan daughters, Mr P. Farrow and Mr E. Chandler (sons in law), Mr and Mrs W. J. Hamilton (sister and brother in law) Mrs Kercher niece, Vera and Pat (grandchildren) Miss A. Nicholas and Mrs D. Phillips (nieces) Mr I. Nicholas, Mrs Farrow and Miss Farrow. Others present included Mrs Judd and Mrs Marshall, Miss McAdam and Mrs Moorman, Mrs A.F. Kingswell, Mrs H. Kingswell, Mrs Guy. and Mr O. Lale senior.Messrs J. Rousell & Son were the local undertakers.
