Thomas JAMES (b. 1804 York Co., SC, d. 29 June 1871, Morgan Co., AL
Buried: James Family Cemetery located near Forrest Chapel on land formerly owned by the James Family.
Parents: John JAMES and Elizabeth SANDLIN JAMES of York Co., SC. He died in York co., SC, 13 Aug 1850 (bur. across the road from his home). Elizabeth survived him and is buried at Antioch Baptist Church near Blacksburg, SC.
Migration: Thomas JAMES came to Morgan Co., AL, with his sister, Mary (Polly) JAMES STROUP and her husband Joseph STROUP, other brothers and sisters, and the SANDLINS, his cousins.
Thomas JAMES purchased the following land from his brother-in-law, Joseph STROUP on 27 Aug 1834: W 1/2 NE 1/4 Sec. 14,T7,R5 W-79.85 acres (This piece of land known by patent). Deed Bk C, p. 142.
Thomas JAMES also obtained land in Township 7 South, Range 5 West as follows: SW 1/4 of SE 1/4 Sec. 10, 39.93 acres Jany 4, 1837 on Cert. 8,925, Huntsville Land Office.
