The first Corsers in North America settled in Massachusetts, and there was early movement to New Hampshire, New York, and the Canadian border and Quebec Province. The 1997 picture shows that the name occurs in two thirds of the states in the CONUS (there are none in Alaska and Hawaii). There are significant numbers in California, Florida, New York and Texas,  but the highest concentration of occurrences is in Michigan.
