Willis F. Workman
Willis Floyd Workman, 78, of Keysrock Rd., Pineville, died Wednesday,
June 26, in a Beckley hospital, following a long illness.
Born Oct.22, 1912, at Pineville, he was the son of the late Floyd and Susie
Mullins Workman.
Mr. Workman was a retired coal miner and worked for 16 years at Wyoming
Lumber and Supply Company in Pineville before his retirement. He was a
lifelong resident of Wyoming County.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna June McGraw in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Alvis Workman; a son, Willis "Buzz"
and daughter-in-law, Iris Workman Keyrock; six daughters, Mrs. Raymond
(Joyce) Snodgrass of Napa, Calif., Mrs. Jerry (Harvolene) Jacobs and Mrs.
Delwood (Janet) Jacobs, both of Fairmont, N.C., Mrs. Bill (Theresa) Lewis
of Keyrock, Mrs. George (Darla) of Va., and Mrs. Roger (Pam) Johnson of
Rockview; three brothers, Winford Workman of Matheny, Calvin Workman of
Baileysville and Jack Workman of S.C.; Three sisters, Flossie Green of
Alpoca, Harriet Perdue of Oceana and Ollie Reed of Micajahs Ridge; 17 grandchildren;
and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel,
Pineville, with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow
in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
