Dies of Heart Attack

Funeral Arrangements are incomplete for Richard Wellman ( Dick ) Workman,
owner of Workman Tire Co. in South Chas, who died Thursday at his home
of a heart attack.
Mr. Workman, 44 of 41 McCorkle Ave., South Charleston, W.Va. was also a
former reporter for the Charleston Gazzette.
A son of the late Paul W. Workman who was a former Kanawha County Assessor,
he was well known throughout the valley for the radio commercials he made
in promoting his tire company.
Mr. Workman, a World War II Veteran and a graduate of Marshall University
and the Missouri University School of Journalism, was also associated with
the former State Conservation Department for a brief time following his
employment with the newspaper.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Paul C. at home; daughters
Helen Christine, Mary Ann and Katherine June at home; mother, Mrs. Violet
Workman of Queen Shoals; brother, Paul B. of Elkview.
The Snodgrass Funeral Home, south Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.
