Zachariah Taylor Ross and Rebecca Powers were married Oct. 4, 1905 in Wayne Co., W.Va. Zachariah was born April 20, 1878 in Wayne Co., and died May 1, 1952 in Wayne Co. Zachariah was the son of James Madison Ross Jr. and Mariah Osburn.
Rebecca died a peaceful death from natural causes on March 25, 1964. Rebecca and Taylor were the proud parents of 10 children. Here are their family and memories that we wish to share with you.

1) Pearl Ross was born Oct. 17, 1906 and died Feb. 21, 1989 in Wayne Co., W.Va. She is buried in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Wayne.

2) Hazel Ross was born Sept.8, 1908 and died June 25, 1986 in Wayne. Co., W.Va. Hazel married Clarence Cline, son of Peter Cline and Matilda Mounts. Both are buried at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Wayne.

3) Oma Ross was born March 19, 1910 and died July 26, 1964. She married Herman Okey Sansom, son of Okey E. Sansom and Eliza Crockett. Both are buried at Crockett Cemetery, Wayne Co., W.Va.

4) Elva Ross was born Oct. 11, 1911 in Wayne Co., W.Va. She married Okey Workman, son of James Dolliver and Frances Ball Workman. Okey was killed on a construction job on Feb. 4, 1954. She then later married John Canada. Elva is alive and well and still going strong with that Wayne County "twang" to her voice, that we all love! She's 87!

5) Muss Ross was born on Dec. 21, 1913 in Wayne Co., W.Va. He married Cleo Evelyn Jack, d/o C. Cecil Jack and Zetta Ann Arthur on Oct. 5, 1905 in Wayne Co., W.Va. Muss passed away on Jan. 12, 1997.

6) Ruby Ross was born Nov. 9, 1915 in Wayne Co., W.Va. She died Nov. 2, 1970 in Michigan. Ruby married Sam Vaughn. Sam died Nov. 10, 1977 in Michigan. Both are buried in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Wayne, W.Va.

7) Shirley Ross was born Sept. 20, 1917 in Wayne Co., W.Va. She married Carroll Chester Crockett. Shirley is alive and well today and looking quite spry at the age of 82!

8) Ruth Ross was born Oct. 13, 1919 in Wayne Co., W.Va. Ruth passed away on May 9, 1965 while living in Michigan. She married her sweetheart Walter Wallace Booth, s/o Allen Booth and Lydia Blankenship.

9) Jarusha "Judy" Ross was born March 1, 1922 in Wayne Co.,W.Va. I remember the first time I ever saw her. She was the spitting image of her Aunt "Dossie", my grandmother Dorothy Corns Powers who was the sister to Rebecca Powers Ross! Almost knocked my socks off! Jarusha has never married.

10) Mary Ross was born Aug. 15, 1925 in Wayne Co., W.Va. She married Alvie Ashworth, s/o Alvie Ashworth and Roy Hester Ashworth. Mary died March 21, 1979 in Wayne Co., W.Va. Buried at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Wayne, W.Va.
