Joseph H. Workman Sr.
of Pine Knob, W.Va. died at his home early Saturday morning, July 26, 1969, after a long illness.
He was born March 24, 1897, in Boone County, W.Va., a son of the late Floyd and Rosa B. Kuhn Workman.
He was a WWI veteran, a retired miner and farmer, and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Gunnoe of Pine Knob; two sons, Jo Jr., and Carl, also of Pine Knob; a half sister, Mrs. Martha Lafferty of Arnett, W.Va.; two half brothers, Alfred Workman of Windsor Conn., and Kelly Workman of Toledo, Ohio; and ten grandchildren.
His wife Bessie Marie Vealey Workman, preceded him in death December 16, 1966.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. on July 28, 1969, in the Union Chapel, Pine Knob, W.Va. Clergy officiating was the Rev. Virgil C. Cook, along with singers, The Packsville Quartet.
Interment was made in the Vealey cemetary, Pine Knob, W.Va.
