Bertha A. Workman
NEWARK, DEL. - Bertha A. Workman, 90, formerly of Pine Knob, died Monday, March 30, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Barbara Smith of Newark, following a long illness.
Born July 23, 1907, at Citie, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Dora Collins Morris. Mrs. Workman was a member of Delbert Frewill Baptist Church and was president of the Ladies Aid for more than 20 years.
She was preceeded in death by ner husband, William J. Workman: three sisters, Lottie Morris, Gladys Gilfilen and Alpha Turner, and four brothers: Claude, Carlos, Ross and Prince Morris. Other survivors include two sons, Walter L. Workman of Charleston and William R. Workman of Cumberland, Md; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 am. Friday at Delbert Freewill Baptist Church, Pine Knob, with the Rev. Danny Gilfilen and the Rev. Ottie Tyler officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Rock Creek.
Freinds may call 6 to 9 pm. today at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, and one hour before services Friday at the Church.
