Aaron W. Skidmore

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -- Aaron Winfred "Skid" Skidmore, 94, of Jacksonville, formerly of Cowen, W.Va., died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, in Britthaven of Grantsboro after a long illness.

He was born in Holly, W.Va., was a retired miner from Tioga Coal Co. and was a member of the UMW.

Surviving: son, Gary of Jane Lew; daughters, Joye Stutler of Jacksonville, Treva Sirk of Harrisonburg, Va.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woods Cemetery, Cowen, with the Rev. George Clay officiating. There will be no visitation. Adams Funeral Home, Cowen, is in charge of arrangements.
