[From Original will] On 15 June, 1723, "Thomas Taber of Dartmouth. . . . yeoman" made his will. Bequests were as follows:
To "Mary my. . . . wife the southward half of my Homestead with all ye Houseing, orchards, fences, and appurtenances thereof, to be by her freely used, improved, and enjoyed dureing ye time of her widdowhood" also "all my personall Estate of what sort soever it be, only it is my will, that so much of my sd personall Estate herein given to my wife, as shall be left at her decease, and not by her disposed of shall be equally divided between my six Daughters, here after named"

The inventory of the estat of Philip Taber late of Dartmouth dated 4 March 1692/3 was sworn to by Thomas Taber, Mary Davis and Philip Taber. Division of estate dated 27 Nov. 1693 names his relict; eldest son Philip; son John; five daughters Sarah, Lidiah, Abigail, Easter, and Bethiah; dau. Mary Earle.
On 13 Dec. 1693 there was a receipt of Lidiah Taber dau. of Philip Taber to "my mother Mary Davis" and on the same day Sarah Taber, dau. of Philip Taber to "my mother Mary Davis" and similar receipt from Mary Earl. The 26 April 1708 receipt of Bethiah Taber to "my mother Mary Davis" is the basis for saying she was alive on that date.
On 2 Jan. 1699/1700 Philip Taber of Dartmouth, with consent of his mother Mary Davis of Dartmouth, sold to Robert Gifford meadow in Dartmouth that formely belonged to his father Philip Taber, dec.
On 25 Jan. 1714 an agreement was made whereby Philip Taber would have some land ( apparently the estate of "our Honoured mother being now deceased") and pay his six sisters and brother John equally for their shares. Agreeing were Thomas Earl and Mary his wife; Thomas Brownell and Ester his wife, all of Portsmouth in the colony of Rhode Island; Thomas Cory and Sarah his wife of Tiverton; Joseph Mosher and Lidia his wife; John Macumber & Bethia his wife; John Taber and Abigail Taber all of Dartmouth.

5 March 1678 There was due him from the town 2 pounds 10 shillings.
4 March 1693 Inventory, 231pounds, 14 shillings, 6d, sworn to (31 Aug 1693) by Thomas Taber, Mary Davis and Philip Taber. Housing and land 120 pounds, 4 oxen, 10 cows, 6 two years, 8 yearlings, 5 calves, 3 mares, 2 horses, colt, 4 swine, 3 feather beds, 3 dozen napkins, 3 spinning wheels, carpenter's tools, 3 bibles, &c. Administration was given to widow Mary.
13 Sep 1693. Division was made. To widow, a third of the real and personal, she having the lower room in new house and the cellar. To eldest son Philip, certain land and the other two thirds of housing, amounting in all to 50 pounds, he paying sister Hester 14 pounds, 7 shillings, 4d. at eighteen or marriage. To son John, land amounting to 30 pounds, he paying his sister Bethiah, 12 pounds, 3 shilling, 8d. To five daughters Sarah, Lydia, Abigail, Esther and Bethiah, each 17 pounds, 16 shillings, 4d. To daughter Mary Earle, 7 pounds, 16 shillings, 4d.

Bristol county Deeds, 17:210 "Whereas our honoured father Phillip Taber of Dartmouth deceased being suddenly surprised by Death so that he had not oppertunity to make and ordain his last will . . . . his estate was therefore set out and Divided according to law both real and personall by five men appointed by the Judge of Probate may more fully appear upon Record . . . . first of all being set out for our honoured father Phillip Taber one third part of the Real Estate being measured of and set out by those men appointed . . . . being at ye ____ of the farm with four acres of salt meadow lying at the horseneck having reference to the Records above said for a more plain demonstration of the Bounds thereof our honoured mother being now deceased the Real Estate being devidable according to the Law of this Province we ye subscribers being the heirs of our father deceased unto whom the aboves Estate doth now belong have agreed in manner and form as followeth first of all Considering the Damage of Dividing the aboves Estate or Land have therefore unanamosly agreed that our Brother Phillip Taber for 46, 13s., 4d., "equally to be divided among the six sisters and his Brother John viz" 6, 13s., 4d., "apeice which said sum of Six pounds thirteen and four pence and to Each I the said sum Phillip Taber do hereby bind myself . . . . to pay at their or either of their Demand in Consideration of the sum of money as abovesaid to us and each of us paid and secured to be paid we the subcribers that have hereunto set our hands and seals viz Thomas Earl and Mary my wife Thomas Brownell and Ester my wife all of Portsmouth in the Colony of Road island and providence plantations Thomas Cory and Sarah my Wife of Tiverton Joseph Mosher and Lidia my wife John Macumber & Bithiah my wife John Taber and Abigail Taber all of Dartmouth . . . . do . . . . make over . . . . unto him our said Brother Phillip Taber . . . . all our whole Right Title and Interest in the Land Meadows housing orchards fences . . . . belonging to the above mentioned Land and premises"
The deed was dated 25 January, 1714/15, and was signed by all the grantors. Mary Earl, Sarah Cory, Abigail Taber, Thomas Brownell and Esther Brownell all signed by marks. The witnesses were Phillip Taber, John Taber and Thomas Taber. The signature of Abigail Taber was witnessed by Alexander Plumbly and John Taber. The signature of Lydia Mosher was witnessed by Abiah Carpenter and Nathaniel Perry. On 6 June 1715, John Taber, Abigail Taber, Joseph Mosher and Lydia Mosher acknowledged the deed before Nathaniel Paine, Judge of Probate. On 24 June 1720, Thomas and Esther Brownell, and John and Bethiah Macumber acknowledged the deed before Job Almy, Justice of the Peace. The deed was recorded on 17 January 1726/27, by Samuel Howland, Register.
