Peter Asmus Cords was born June 10, 1881 in Denmark, he came to America with his mother and father (see above). They settled in Evanston, Illinois, near Lake Michigan. It was a good place for a boy to grow up. Peter was the oldest of three sisters and one brother. They all went to school in Evanston, and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church. As a young man, Peter entered a seminary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was to become a Minister. When this did not seem to be to his liking, he heeded the call of the West to the wild country of Nebraska and Wyoming where the life of a cowboy was more to his liking. A cowboy he remained for perhaps ten years. He returned home for a visit with his parents and was introduced to a beautiful young woman, Augusta Busse, they fell in love and were married on May 17, 1910. Peter's mother was thrilled, Augusta was the girl of her choice. Peter and Augusta lived in Evanston, Cook Co., Illinois their entire married life. They raised three boys and one beautiful girl, all of whom made their parents very proud. Their children: Donald, Robert, Harriett, and Fredrick.
Fredrick married Doris Olsen, May 17, 1942 and they immediately moved to California because of World War II. They had three children: Sandra, Fredrick "Rick", and Corinne.
