William Rinehart, the son of John and Susannah Rinehart was born about 1806. William and his wife, Mary "Polly", lived in Jackson County, Tennessee when they had their third child, Sarah "Sally" Rinehart in March 1828. William and Polly moved from there to Hardeman County, Tennessee in 1836. By 1838 the family had settled into living in Tishomingo County, Mississippi.
William died before 12 September 1845 in Tishomingo Co. Mississippi and Polly married (2) David Hutcherson on 19 December 1847.
William and Polly's child, Sarah "Sally" Rinehart, married 08 December 1845 Churchwell Anderson McQuilliams in Tishomingo Co. Churchwell, son of Robert McQuilliams and Jane Russ. He was born 1827 in Mecklenburg, North Carolina and died after 1870 possibly in Tishomingo County, Mississippi.
Sally and Churchwell had ten children. It is their eighth child, Sarah "Sallie" McQuilliams\McWilliams that continues in our files.
Sally Rinehart lived with her daughter, Sarah "Sallie" long after she was widowed. For many years she lived in Arkansas with Sallie and her husband, Elijah B. Hammond, Sally Rinehart died after 1910 in Conway County, Arkansas.
* Note of interest: Sally and Churchwell's seventh child; Henry F. McWilliams married Martha C. Hammond on December 2, 1879 in Conway County, Arkansas, just one month after Sallie and Elijah Hammond were married in the same place.
