The death of Willie N. DuBose, 67, of 711 Sixth Street was ruled as "accidental" by Justice of the Peace Fulton Lee today on the basis of an autopsy report and testimony from a witness who saw the man fall Tuesday afternoon.
        Dr. Andrew Gwynne, a pathologist report to Judge Lee Weds. afternoon that DuBose died of a subdural hematoma resulting from a blow to the head.
        Claudelle Meyes, an employee of Tate's Bar said in a statement to police that between 2 and 4 p.m. Tuesday she saw DuBose and a female companion walking up the steps to the bar where she works. She stated that when DuBose was on the top step and the woman was on the second step from the top, the woman fell and reached for him. As he reached to help her, he fall backwards and hit his head on the sidewalk.
        Mrs. Meyes said she helped the couple get to their feet and noted that DuBose had a real large bump on the back of his head and that he was bleeding from a cut over his right eye brow. She said he refused to go to the hospital.
        DuBose was found dead weds just before 7 a.m. by a neighbor who called police.
