SERVICES SET FOR BERT E. MILLER


Funeral services for Bert E. Miller are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the White Funeral home. The Rev. E. H. Hancock will officiate and burial will be in the Fairbank cemetery.
Mr. Miller died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 at his home in Independence. He was born Sept. 7, 1894 on a farm near Brandon, the son of Martin J. and Elizabeth Bearbower Miller.
He married Martha Adams on Dec. 1, 1915 at Independence Mr. Miller was a retired farmer and had lived in Independence about 17 years. He was employed as a technician operatior for Buchanan county.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Edward of Independence; Charles and Robert, both of Marsh air force base at Sunny Mead, Calif.; one daughter Norma Miller, Portland, Ore.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Fraggrett, Oran; Gladys Van Laningham, Independence and Mrs. Harold Weber, Jesup.
He was preceded in death by his paretnts, one son, James and one sister.
