 Milks Genealogy
Welcome to the Milks side of the family. This page will show our direct line to John Milk, born in England and immigrated to MA in the 1600's. Again, all the family surnames that appeared during this research will be listed on another page, which is still in the planning stage.
The following information has not been authenticated and is for personal family research only, not for publication. I received most of it from fellow researchers via the internet and am very grateful for their help. If you have additional information or find a family connection to me, please contact me at: "djcov@prodigy.net"
Charles William Milks, Sr.
1897-1931
This photo of Charles William Milks, my grandfather, was sent to me by a lady who responded to a message I left on the Milks surname message board. It was taken from the book, "Genealogy and History of the Milk-Milks family" by Grace Croft. When I received this it was the first time I had ever seen what my grandfather looked like. It's not very good, as in order to see it I enlarged it, but I don't mind, at least I know what he looked like.
Generation 1
John Milk, b. 1640 in Norfolk, England; immigrated to America and was appointed as Salem's cowherd on 7 April 1662, and that same year was chose for the duty of chimney sweep. On 1 April 1677 he appeared before the Mayor Hawthorne to take the oath of allegiance. He married Sarah Wesson (Weston) in April 1665 and had two children: John and Mary.
paraphrased from "Genealogy and History of Milk-Milks family" by Grace Croft.

Jonathon was in the American Revolution, but it can't be documented because he was a regular soldier, but he helped defend lands near his home in the Battle of Saratoga. Other researchers are trying to find documentation of this fact. Evidently, there is information about his nephew, but not him.

Her parents are Luke English, born 1753, died 1812 and Mary Prince born 1756 and died 1846, she had two brothers, George and Luke, and a married sister named Mary Green.
