Established first ferry between Charlestown and Boston. Foremost among founders of Woburn, Mass., where
he was Selectman, Deacon of first church, and in 1660, Deputy to General Court. d. in Woburn, 10th
Aug. 1663. m. Sarah _____, who came from England with him and d. 14th Jan. 1661-62.

i. Deacon Josiah, b. in England (probably in 1618); d. in Wuburn, 3d Feb. 1689-90; m. Esther
Champney. He was Deacon of Woburn church.

d in Woburn, 10 May 1715. Lieutenant of Woburn Company in Garrison at Woburn during
King Philip's War. Selectman: Commissioner of Rates; Depurty to General Court,

iii. Mary, b. in England 1622; m. (firstly) Simon Thompson; (secondly) John Sheldon; ancestress of
Count Rumford.
