Sept. 1, 1891 – Pleasant in the morning, rained before
night.
Sept. 2, 1891 – A very pleasant day.
Sept 3, 1891 – A beautiful day. Juba & Clara gone to
Sept. 4, 1891 – Very cloudy all day, one
heavy shower.
Sept. 5, 1891 – Pleasant. Johnnie fishing with the
Sept. 6 thru 9, 1891 – No entries.
Sept. 10, 1891 – A very pleasant day. Fannie & Johnnie started for home to
Sept. 11, 1891 – Nice day.
Sept. 12, 1891 – A very nice day. Minnie started for
Sept. 13, 1891 – All at home.

Sept. 15, 1891 – Clara has been washing.
Sept. 16, 1891 – Juba started for
Sept. 17, 1891 – Jennie is here, we are visiting every moment. I can get time to set down. The house seems almost empty with our dear ones leaving one after another, have had such a pleasant time with them, no doubt my last.
Sept. 18, 1891 – A beautiful day. Jennie is fixing over my black dress. Mr. Adams little child died yesterday.
Sept. 19, 1891 – A most delightful day. Baby Rollin says, “Papa has to

Sept. 21, 1891 – Another very nice day although some of the time it has threatened to rain, just a little sprinkle. Jennie & Louisa have done me a great kindness by not letting me do the washing. Hope they receive their just due.
Sept. 22, 1891 – Very pleasant day. Jennie & I finished ironing. P.m. Jennie & Hariet to Minnie’s & Lyman’s. Heard from Juba, he was in
Sept. 23, 1891 – Pleasant. Jennie at home with me all day. I commenced working on my ____ cover.
Sept. 24, 1891 – Pleasant. Jennie & Hariet to Vergennes to see Uncle George. I was alone all day.
Sept. 25, 1891 – Pleasant. Clara & baby came down with Cora Stagg. Jennie & I went down to Mrs. Lyman’s. Towards night Jennie went up to stay all night with Louisa.
Sept. 26, 1891 – Very pleasant. Clara went up home with Hariet
this morning. Jennie went to Cornelia’s
to dinner, she brought her home. Evening
Hariet brought our mail, a good long letter from
Sept. 27, 1891 – A warm nice day. Lyman carried Jennie to ride, returned soon after noon. We had chicken for supper. Louisa came over and towards night she went with Jennie to ride. I have been writing to Juba & Fannie.
Sept. 28, 1891 – Very dry & warm. Jennie & Louisa washing for me. I sent by letters by mail carrier.
Sept. 29, 1891 – Warm & dry. A very strong south wind, a little rainy this afternoon. Josiah & Hariet went with Jennie to the depot. She goes to her daughter May’s home Pompton Plains, N. Jersey. Now I am entirely alone. Louisa staid with me last night, started off at 6.
Sept. 30, 1891 – Very pleasant. Have been alone nearly all
