Nov. 1, 1891 – A very pleasant day.  Clara & Rollin to the Corners.  At night Juba went after them.  Louisa here.

 

Nov. 2, 1891 – Very pleasant, cool and dry.  Juba to Charlie Spaldings. Louisa helping us wash, finished before dinner.

 

Nov. 3, 1891 – Pleasant.  Juba finished work at Charlie Spaldings at noon. P. M. he went to Silas Hoyts to finish up there.  Louisa helping about the ironing.

 

Nov. 4, 1891 – A beautiful day.  Juba at work to Fred Grandeys. Levi Mathews is 30 years old today.  His father died in the Army when he was 14 months old at Belle Plain, Va. Jan’y 8, 1863.

 

Nov. 5, 1891 – A beautiful day.  Juba, Clara & Rollin to the Corners.  Juba is making a saw frame at Mr. Fields shop to send to Loyal. I have been all alone with plenty to do to keep me busy.

 

Nov. 6, 1891 – A splendid day.  Juba, Clara & Rollin to Ver.  Juba carried a saw frame he made for Loyal to express to him in Butte City, Mon.  Clara had Rollin’s picture taken and got her dress at the dressmakers.  I went down to see Mrs. Lyman.

 

Nov. 7, 1891 – Another splendid day.  Juba gone up to George Allens.  Juba is 39 years old today.

 

Nov. 8, 1891 – A very pleasant day.  Juba & I attended the funeral of Mr. Moorby in Addison, very large attendance.  After supper Juba, Clara & the baby went to the Corners.  I wrote to Sadie & Minnie.

 

Nov. 9, 1891 – A very pleasant day.  Juba to Fred Grandeys.  Clara did all the washing. Juba & Clara to Ver. this evening to attend a concert musical talent from Boston.  Rollin staid with me, was very good.

 

Nov. 10, 1891 – A very pleasant day.  Juba to Sam Rogers to repair a barn.

 

Nov. 11, 1891 – Pleasant day.  Juba to Mr. Rogers.

 

Nov. 12, 1891 – Very pleasant weather.  Juba to Sam Rogers.

 

Nov. 13, 1891 – Juba at home.  At night carried Clara & Rollin to the Corners to stay till Sunday night.

 

Nov. 14, 1891 – (no entry)

 

Nov. 15, 1891 – Pleasant part of the day.  Juba gone after Clara & Rollin.  Have been writing to Sadie.  Miss Daisy Harris died this morning.

 

Nov. 16, 1891 – Pleasant but strong south winds.  Juba to Mr. George Dudleys.

 

Nov. 17, 1891 – The south wind has brot on a storm of rain, warm as summer.  Juba & Clara have gone to the funeral of Miss Harris.  Rollin staid home with me.  Mr. Isban (?) Allen died this morning.

 

Nov. 18, 1891 – Cool & fair.  Juba to Mr. Dudleys.  Has had a toothache all day.

 

Nov. 19, 1891 – Cool & pleasant.  Juba has gone to Ver. to have his teeth taken out.  Cool south wind.  Came home with them in but the pain was gone.  The dentist said they were not decayed and the pain was neuralgia.

 

Nov. 20, 1891 – Cold south wind this morning.  Juba to Mr. Dudleys.  Towards night, much warmer.

 

Nov. 21, 1891 – Cold this morning, very cloudy.  Juba to Dudleys. Sent to Ver. by Mr. Stagg for a barrel of flour.  Eve.  Juba gone over to see if the flour came, it did.

 

Nov. 22, 1891 – Very cloudy.  Juba, Clara & Rollin to the Corners, rained before they got back.  Rec’d a long and good letter from Annie King in S. Dakota.

 

Nov. 23, 1891 – Dark & rainy.  Juba to Millard Nortons.  Clara washing.  Mrs. Rogers quite sick.

 

Nov. 24, 1891 – Very strong west wind last night and all day today. Juba at home in the shop.  I have answered Annie King’s letter tonight.

 

Nov. 25, 1891 – Cold south wind.  Juba to Mr. Hopkins Gaines.

 

Nov. 26, 1891 – A very little snow fell last night which made wheeling very hard. Thanksgiving day. Clara gone to home to see her brother Eric. Eric came last night. Juba came back to dinner. Invited Louisa to dinner, had a baked chicken.

 

Nov. 27, 1891 – Cool south wind yet, a very little snow fell last night. Juba to Mr. Gaines yet.  He brought Clara & Rollin home. Eric came down and staid all night.  Brout the baby a drum.

 

Nov. 28, 1891 – Colder & snowing fast.  Juba has gone to carry Eric to Ver. in the storm.  Our dear son John Rollin would have been 49 years old today.  He was killed in battle when he was 21 years 8 months & 2 days old.

 

Nov. 29, 1891 – Pleasant & cold.  Juba has gone to Mr. Curlens.  His father, David Curlen, died very suddenly yesterday with apoplexly.

 

Nov. 30, 1891 – Cold pleasant day, no sleighing yet.  Juba about home in the forenoon.  P. M.  He cut a load of pine tops in Arthur Tappens lot for John Davis.  Fred Grandey drew the load.  27 years & 4 months since our dear son John Rollin was slain in battle.
