Wallace Edgar Cloyd was born on 12. Nov. 1894 at Salisbury, Chariton County, Missouri. He was the son of

Wallace E. Cloyd, 81, of Rte. 2 Kellogg, died early Sunday at Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Howard Anthony and Lonzo Nealon officiating. Organist was Mrs. Lester Sayles, and vocalists were Janet Klenk, Adele Jeske, Troy Craig, and Dan Henry. Pallbearers were Charles Anthony, Earl Anthony, Richard Anthony, Jesse Carter, Dale Johnson and James Johnson. Burial was at Sheridan Cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorials in Mr. Cloyd's name may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.
The son of Jesse and Susan Ehrhardt Cloyd, he was born Nov. l2, l894, at Salisbury, Mo. He attended rural schools near his home. In l9l7, he came to Iowa to farm and later served in the U.S. Army during World War 1.j
On Jan. 1, 1920, he was married to Myrtle Anthony at her parents' home near Sheridan. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd continued to farm in the Chester and Newburg areas until his retirement.
Mr. Cloyd is survived by his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Dr. Jesse Cloyd of Springfield, Mo., and Edgar Cloyd of Hudson, Iowa; six grand-children; three great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Kate Brewer of Marceline, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Mrs. Alva Lampe, Mrs. Willie Smith, Mary Cloyd, and Mrs. Gertrude Carter.
He was buried at Sheridan Cemetery, Sheridan Twp., Poweshiek County, Iowa.
