Orin L. Hudnutt and
Catherine L. Van Doren. James Monroe Hudnut began military service on 25. Jul. 1862; enlisted as a private in Co. D, 8th New York Heavy Artillery Regiment. He promoted to full Corporal on 7. Feb. 1864. He promoted to full Sergeant on 6. May. 1864. He wounded on 3. Jun. 1864 at Cold Harbor, Hanover County, Virginia. He ended military service on 20. Jul. 1865 at Washington, District of Columbia; mustered out. He married
