Story of OLA Restaurant
A very discouraged Norwegian Architect was sauntering along the streets of Boston one day durig the depression and stopped for a momemt on Carver Street, struck by the rustic atmosphere of number fourteen, OLA was conceived right then and there and in less than ten days the new restaurant was born. The prospects for this depression child were as gloomy as the period itself, but it was carried forward on the kind waves of a devoted patronage. To-day OLA is a healty strong and full grown establishment standing firmly on its own merits.
OLA was and is the first real Norwegian restaurant in Boston under genuine Norwegian management. The patrons hail from all walks of life: raming Bohemians, discriminating and serene Beacon Hillites as well as voracious students with their pretty companions. They are all welcome, and we like to see them often.
The name OLA was picked from the Fairy Tales. Ola was just an ordinary peasant boy, who bravely coped with his childhood's many unfortunate mishaps. He was a manly little fellow, who smled in the face of disaster, and we are sincerely endeavouring to uphold that same spirit.
