NB - James B. Keefe - per the 1900 US Census in Chelsea, Ma was born in 1869 in Canada .. by family source - believed in PEI ..and he married Mary Ellen MacNeil -- whose mother & father lived in lots 37-49 .. the Johnson River & Vernon River area (Alberry Plain). As Lot 4 is west-most on the Island -- he could have taken a schooner or gone overland. Whether he travelled with the MacNeils to Amrica or married afterwards is in research.
MacNeils are in the 1881 Census in Lot 49 ... and Mary Ellen is not yet wed. ... Also ... John is the name of another Great-Uncle Keefe ..whether GGGF Keefe - Ireland born is named Thomas (Lot 4 - 1881) or John (Lot 5 1881) is inresearch. Both are old enough to be he father of James - 14 here.
Anne MacEachern .. GG-GM who married GG-GF John MacNeil likely grew up in neighboring Lots 35-37 - Johnson River ..area which reaches the north side port of Souris. Their daughter Mary Ellen MacNeil married James Keefe about 1888-9 ..and they settled in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Their daughter - Anne Louise Keefe married Charles A. McCormack .. their daughter Dorothy L. McCormack married Owen F. Connolly ... parents of Scott M. Connolly.

James keefe & mary Ellen mayhave met through relations in the MacEachern & MacMellan & MacNeil families there.
