State death index will be checked SMC Note -- Mary Scott, nee Mary Durgin was the widow of Chas. Henry Scott (dod 1922) & parents of two surviving daughters - Sarah Elizabeth Scott (my Grandmother-paternal via Owen F Connolly -June 22, 1921 (Malden born) - 1996 - J`ville, Fl) (dob 1889-Portland Me - dod 1971 Lexington, Ma ... married 1906 Joseph A. Connolly - Portland, Me.) & Mary Alice Scott (dob 1885 Portland, Me dod 1969 or 1966? in Malden, Ma.) Mary Scott was born in 1852 in Maine .. and the full marital name Mary Ann Scott was volunteered by the City Clerk`s office. [the `Ann` was unprompted and is correct]
Mary Ann Scott & Mary Alice Scott & Charles Henry Scott were all interred in Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Me. Attempting to determine Durgin line of descent from believed Samuel & Mary Durgin of Maine or John & Mary Durgin of Maine. Charles Henry Scott, wife Mary Ann Durgin Scott, two surviving daughters Sarah E & Mary A are evidenced in the Porland Maine 1900 US Federal Census -- Charles Henry Scott & Mary Ann Durgin Scott both state that their parents are Maine born. On a related note .. Leightons possibly relate to this Scott family via GGGM Mary Pegrim - possibly a John Leighton of Boston-Portland
