Note -- items in brackets have been added, or corrected by Scott M Connolly; Henry Scott GGG-GF, who married GGG-GM Sarah Jones, lived and died in Maine. Scott M. Connolly descends from Henry Scott of GGGG-GP's Thomas Scott and Sarah (Hale) Scott.
The Thomas Scott family moved to Halifax, Vermont about 1776; Thomas Scott is a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, Battle of Bennington, September 1777; documentation in progress. (Mustered with Goffstown, NH militia); by one account he settled there by 1778; but owned property there from 1761 [wedding gift from Rev. James Hale -4 acres - 5 other Hale families from Ashford, Ct. also went to Vermont].

By new discovery of his GGGG-GP's about 5/06/04; Scott M. Connolly visited the gravesite at Halifax Cemetery, Halifax, Vermont .... 05/09/04. Halifax is about 60 miles from West Springfield, Massachusetts.
Many of my family had though our Scott ancestry was of Massachusetts and Maine.
