United Council of Colonies [Mass;Ct;NH;RI] sent Capt'n Graves with men and supplies from Charlestown  conveyed to garrison at Brookfield which had been abandoned .. Brookfield was not resettled until as late as 1686   p 130  

English re-headquartered at Hadley ..Thomas Scott killed ..belived Ipswich?  killed at Northfield Sept 2d as garrison prepared for expedition 1676 (Indian - surprise attack - discovery of dead bodies account is bloody - as many beheadings - heads mounted on poles; one soldier killed and hung by chain from a tree)

Josiah Scott of Hatfield, son of William Scott ..Jonathan Scott, Waterbury descendant of John Hawks;
Township created embraced today's Colrain, Leyden; and was at first called "Falltown" ... lands granted to soldiers and their descendants   John Scott of Elbows [old name for Palmer] to Grandson John Scott

June 30th 1676 Mount Hope, Capt Brattle died (son of one of the richest estates in New England)  [Brattleboro, Vt. namesake].
