[SMC-ed note: Hannah Scott was included here due to Hannah above. She may be the Roxbury Hannah twice removed from Roxbury to Rowley to Newbury. Some settled Rowley from Newbury and Cambridge. Rowley Vitals also reports the birth: Sarah d. Joseph and Hannah, Mar. 10, 1690-91.
John and Hannah Scott have nine children .. two of which survive infancy - John and Joseph - while in Roxbury.

NB - the spelling of Scot[t] with one 't' was the styling then of Thomas Scot of Scott Hall in Kent England; the ancestral home of many New England colonists with that surname includig the Rattlesden Scotts who trace back through Reginald and John Scott to Thomas Scott. Thomas Scot[t] and Elizabeth Baker had several sons among some 16 children - including Benjamin (#14) John, Reginald, Richard, Peter.

If favored in the period it would flow with Protestant Queen Elizabeth's favor to a national hero (the Sheriff of Kent in 1588 was a Thomas Scot) against the Spanish Armada. His lineage is also on line [cf Thomas Scott of Kent & Charlemagne] - known and printed for centuries by every English Scott genealogy for his group.
