Bernard Connolly also a wagon-driver (teamster) in the 1858-9 City Directory is of an age for parentage of Bryan and may have introduced the trade to his son.
Terrence McGowan begins in the 1858-9 City Directory (maybe earlier) and is of an age to parent Winnifred McGowan and also has a Terrence Jr in business. Only other reason for parental assumption until records check is an uncle named Terrence Connolly-son of Winnifred & Bryan Connolly which may have been named for Winnifred's father.
There are also records for a same-time family of Bernard Connolly & Winnifred McGowan which may have been Bryan's brother who also married a Winefred McGowan. A full detailing will await a Maine records check --Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Portland, Maine ... and AUgusta' Maine archives.
nb. Teresa Connolly daughter of Bryan & Winnefred Connolly, and Scott M Connolly's great-aunt ..was born in Massachusetts (per US Census 1880).
Also .. a Patrick McGowan, merchant, is noted as the father of the Winnifred McGowan (b.1843) married to Bernard Connolly. The 'Patrick Connolly' contingently noted here as Mrs Bryan Connolly's father (Winifred McGowan b 1844) can have been one of two Patrick's or is in error ..her details will await a death record check.
