Family of Samuel May

Samuel May Family presented here was learned by me as I researched my German May ancestry which began in, as I can trace it in Baden Germany, pre-1750 then by immigration to Boston about 1839. This Family of Samuel May was one of Boston merchants, with its English roots in Puritan & pre-revolutionary Boston .. and is unrelated.

While tracing my ancestor Francis J. May in the same Boston Directory 1849-50 [929.3, Mass B65 Dir], he was listed as a baker with a shop & residence at rear 43 Pleasant [West Roxbury] .. a business and trade all his life. The directory's type-setting saved an 'em' with his listing by adding [son .. the following line lists:
May, Frederick W.G. (S.May & Co.) h. Atkin-
No relation ... just a typesetter's accidental 'son' if misread. The 'son' belongs with the Street - Atkinson.
