A Bridget May will live to past year 1900; and in the 1900 census has moved again to New Bedford, Ma and is living as a head of her household, a widow, with one of her daughters Bridget. She never learned to read or write, did not attend school, and was born in IrelandIn the 1900 census, one of her daughters married and living with her, is Bridget Pheney, a cotton weaver - born in 1862-3.
Note this is not Adelia Fitzmorris May [occasionally Bridget]. This "Bridget" again is a widow who has had 9 chldren, one of which lived with her at census time on Merrimac Street in New Bedford, Ma. In a census prior to 1880 a Bridget May is also in New Bedford, and a Francis May in Somerset-Bristol County. |
