- David Jones, the father of Sarah, was a doctor. Lawrences, Jones, and Scotts all affiliate at his time in North Yarmouth -the Royal River valley, Falmouth, Cape ELizabeth, Portland ... Lawrences, among others, have patents to a proprietorship there from the the 17th century. Research continues to see if Eugene and Henry relate to John, Samuel, or Thomas & Hannah Scott. latter of Ipswich --Massachusetts Bay Colony. NB Family connections mentioning Gloucester will mean Massachusetts ..New Gloucester was primarily a Shaker Settlement, and Shakers were celibates.
Connollys & Scotts & McGowans were also befriended or related to Townsends ..whether the Towsnend farm were in N.Yarmouth .. or up toward Boothbay with more Lawrences & Royall settlements is in research.
Many Maine coastal families were also settlers drawn from transported debtors, prisoners [Dunbar, Civil War] in the 1630's with New England given a first look-over for manpower destined for Barbadoes & St.Christopher. Names Jones & Scott are among the earliest represented among these.
