Graves are in Evergreen Cemetery on the western side of Portland out Congress Street to Stevens Aveune .. and the cemetery, like others in the 19th century, was envisioned as part of the city's greenspace and landscaping plan by Frederick Law Olmstead.

These Scotts are believed the family of Charles H Scott [ggf] above [his father was a Henry M Scott gggf] but his wife is referenced as Ann Pringram [Pegrim] ..and the burial here is of Della May Scott --either a sister or Eugene O Scott's wife.
Note: 10/25/02 .. Carrie, a child, appears a relation of another Scott family buried with her grandarents. [Perhaps C. Henry Scott & Mary Ann Scott (Durgin)]

These appear to be the graves of Henry & Della (May) Scott ... and may be collateral relations.
Mary Alice Scott, a writer in the Portland area in the 19th to early 20th century was born in 1858? and lived to 1929. Her name is shared as an inspiration for several in our family. [not a namesake]

Note 10/25/02 .... Some confusion as to family tracing in this list ... Mary Alice Scott regularly corresponded with an Adelia Freeman .. and by family reference a Della May Scott married a Mr. Freeman.
Also .. if a Mr. Henry Scott married Mary Alice pengram; per Maine marriage indexes in 1851 (parents of Charles Henry Scott), did the new Mrs Henry M. Scott (Mrs. mary Alice Peagram Cummings [w 1850] Scott) have children by Mr Cummings before marriage?
