1871 Census, Berwick, Scotland
Search Criteria
As I said before, the search criteria are as below;
- I wanted the information
- Someone asked me to look for it
- It came along for the ride when I printed pages
- I thought it looked interesting
- As I had the film for 1865 BEW Marriages at the same time
I kept an eye out on the census for families that looked like they "matched" with either the parents
or parties to the marriages. I managed to match up a couple of them, and should have links between
the two sets of transcriptions.
Of equal importance to what I did find is knowing what I looked for, but didn't
find. Also to be taken into account was the nature of the search (was it thorough & systematic
or was I just "keeping an eye out". In general, in the details below, "found" refers to a
comprehensive search, while "saw" means I wasn't looking so hard for the information.

Porters House. A WOOD family was there in 1881.
