Dr. Aaron
A. Connell was born in March 1807 in
Frederick, MD. Aaron is listed in
the 1830 Columbiana Co. OH census living in New Lisbon.
There are 3 males under 5 yrs. of age listed (Alfred, Benjamin, and
Dewitt Clinton); 2 males between 20-30 (Aaron & possibly one of the brothers
living with them {David????}; and one female between age 20-30 (Amelia, his wife).
He was a physician. In 1845
Aaron was practicing in Salineville, Washington Twp Columbiana Co. OH.
It was stated that he died in 1850. However
on pg 50 of the 1879 History of Columbiana Co. it states that
Aaron Connell attended a pioneer reunion. In the 1860 census he shows up
at Elkart Co., Elkhart Town, IN as a physician with a personal property worth
$100. According to the article below he is back in Columbiana County in
1871 living at Summitville.

FAMILY REUNION: Children
and grandhchildren of Dr. Aaron Connell met at his residence in
Summitville on the 27th having been separated from more than 20 years.
The number present was 34, being father and mother, 6 sons, 2
daughters, 1 son-in-law, 5 daughter-in-laws and 18 grandchildren.
The next morning they all took the cars for Wellsville where they
spent a day and night with the oldest son, Alfred.
Dr. Connell can boast of what few men can, namely that he furnished
7 sons for the war of the Great Rebellion, of whom 2 were killed.

Promoted to 1st Lt. and transferred back to Co. S Apr. 17, 1863.

Charles Chandler Connell
(George M.-2, Dr. Aaron A.-1) was born on September 27, 1871 in Lisbon, OH.
He died in 1944. He was
buried in Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, OH. American
Legion marker on grave. Row 11 1/r.
Charles received his early education in the public schools of Lisbon,
then Ohio State University until 1892 and graduated from the Cincinnati Law
School in 1894. He has since been
engaged in the practice of law in Lisbon since graduation (1926).
During World War 1 he held the rank of major and was awarded the Medal of
Honor by the French War Department for his work done as chief of the medical
personnel of the American Red Cross. He
served as a member of the Senate for four years.
He is vice president of the Firestone Bank of Lisbon (1926).
Charles is affiliated with the Masonic Lodge, the Ohio Society of New
York and the Leister Club of Dublin, Ireland.
As of 1926 they had no children. He was one of the authors of An
Historical Sketch of The Old Village of New Lisbon, Ohio; 1903.
| CHARLES CHANDLER CONNELL, of Lisbon,
is a representative member of the bar of Columbiana County. He was
born at Lisbon, Sept. 27, 1871, and is the son of George and Louisa
(Chandler) Connell; his father George M. Connell, deceased, was widely
known as the author of the play, "The Fall of Atlanta."
C.C. Connell received his early education in the public schools of Lisbon, in Ohio State University until 1892 and graduated from the Cincinnati Law School in 1894. he has ever since been engaged in the practice of law at Lisbon. During the World War Mr. Connell held the rank of major and was awarded the Medal of Honor by the French War Department for his work done as chief of the medical personnel of the American Red Cross. he served as a member of the Senate for four years, as U.S. referee in Bankruptcy for seven years, and he also served as city solicitor for 12 years. Mr. Connell is vice president of the Firestone Bank of Lisbon. On June 27, 1901, Mr. Connell was united in marriage with Miss Evelyn Gaskill, of Lisbon, the daughter of Charles and Kitty (Harvey) Gaskill. They have no children. (Marie E. Connell-2, Dr. Aaron A.-1) was born on January 31, 1874 in
Salineville, Columbiana Co. OH. His
literary training was at Franklin College and his medical degree from Ohio
Medical University graduating in 1898. He
started practice in Salineville. In
1905 he located at Amsterdam, Carroll Co. OH.
| William A. Lindsay, M.D., physician
and surgeon at Amsterdam, Ohio, owning and conducting the drug store
adjoining his residence, occupies a leading position in the town's affairs
and is well known professionally all through this section. He was
born at Salineville, Columbiana Co., Ohio, January 31, 1874 and is a son
of Dr. John A. and Marie E. (Connell) Lindsay.
The late Dr. J.A. Lindsay was a prominent member of the medical profession in Columbiana County, During the Civil War he served as a soldier, enlisting as a private and later was made a sergeant in the 19th Regiment Kentucky Infantry. After the war was over he located at Salineville, Ohio, where he engaged in the practice of medicine until the close of his life, his death occurring in December, 1908. his widow resides at Youngstown, Ohio. In politics he was identified with the Democratic party, and in religion he belonged to the United Presbyterian Church. W.A. Lindsay complete his literary training at Franklin College and then naturally entered upon the study of medicine, his father and both grandfathers, Dr. John Lindsay and Dr. Aaron Connell, having been more or less eminent in the profession. He received his degree from the Ohio Medical University, where he was graduated in the class of 1898, and immediately located for practice at Salineville, where he continued for seven years. In July, 1905, Dr. Lindsay came to Amsterdam and has built up a large and substantial practice here, and owning his own drug store, has the advantage of knowing just precisely how his prescriptions are filled. He is the U.S. examiner for the Government Marine Recruiting Station at this point. Dr. Lindsay was married at Salineville to Miss M. Luella McKenzie, a daughter of James McKenzie, of that place, and they have one son, James A. who is a student in the Amsterdam schools. Dr. and Mrs. Lindsay are members of the Presbyterian Church. In his political views he is a Democrat.
