Roach (son of Peter and Sarah Roach) on April 28, 1830.
Andrew Roach
was born in 1803 in Pennsylvania. Andrew
came with his family to Columbiana Co. in 1816.
On Sept. 5, 1829, Andrew became the guardian of his nephew, Abraham
Roach, orphan son of Benjamin Roach, aged 14 years 6 mo. in
Columbiana Co. OH. Andrew was
listed in the 1830 Columbiana Co. census living at New Lisbon.
No children in the
household in 1830. Andrew
was county coroner in 1837-39. He is again listed in 1840 at New Libson.

Columbiana county, and was the first sheriff to occupy the brick jail on the
hill now in use.}
He was sheriff in 1840-41. In 1850 Andrew and his family were managing
the poor house in Centre Township. There
were 60 individuals living in the poor house at that time.
[1850 Middleton Twp census dwelling #382 Andrew is listed as
manager of the Poor House. Elizabeth
Augustine, age 69, is living with
them.]
In the 1880 census he is living in Center Twp. Columbiana Co. OH and
lists his occupation as retired farmer. He
died in 1894.

LISBON WOMAN WAS 98 YEARS OF AGE MONDAY 1909; Lisbon, Jan. 19 -- Mrs. Maria Connell Roach yesterday celebrated the 98th anniversary of her birth at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Gailey, on East Walnut street. From relatives and friends here and elsewhere the venerable woman received hearty expressions of congratulation and good will. Mrs. Roach is in the enjoyment of remarkable health for one of her advanced years. She was born January 18, 1811, on a farm between Columbiana and East Fairfield, a daughter of James and Elizabeth Connell, who settled there in the early part of the century, coming across the mountains from Maryland when it required six weeks to make the journey. When 11 years old she came to Lisbon to the home of her uncle, attending school here until her marriage with Andrew Roach April 28, 1830, when she was 19 years of age. Mr. Roach was at one time sheriff of Columbiana county, and was the first sheriff to occupy the brick jail on the hill now in use. His death occurred 14 years ago, and since that time Mrs. Roach has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gailey. |

Roach was born in 1839 in Ohio. She
died in 1894. Louisa appears in the
1850 census, age 11. In 1879 Miss
Lou Roach is teaching primary, first grade, first division, 57 pupils, in the
New Lisbon school. In the 1880
census she is listed as Maria L. Roach living with her parents in Center Twp.
Columbiana Co. OH and occupation of teacher.

Franklin Roach was born. He
died. Died at age 22.

Roach was born. She died.
She died in infancy.

died in 1931. She was buried in
Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, OH. Row 19
r/1. In 1857 New Lisbon union
schools opened in a new brick school-house.
Miss Sarah E. Roach taught intermediate.
She was living on East Walnut street in Lisbon, OH in 1909.
Her mother was living with her.
