In addition to being a warm and caring person Sharon Riddle is the caretaker of Union Chapel Yates Cemetery, a job she inherited from her mother Jewel Froman Sears. We are working closely with Sharon to assist her from afar regarding the cemetery. This cemetery is likely the most historic Yates Family related cemetery that has been identified to date.
It is likely the burial location of John Yates, Sr. b. ca 1760 and his father Benjamin Yates b. ca 1735 documented in the 1820 and 1830 US Census records. We have detected the presence of approximately 75 unmarked graves in the cemetery. Sharon agreeably goes about her task as caretaker with a caring and loving spirit.
