James B. Land

Pvt. James B. Land, b. 28 APR 1793 in SC, married Dicy White 10 NOV 1813 in Barren Co., KY. and died 09 NOV 1845 in Crawford Co., IN. He was mustered into service under Andrew Jackson in Major Copeland's 3rd Regiment of the Tennessee Militia and took part in the battle of Horseshoe Bend in 1814.

He and his wife settled in Crawford County, Indiana between 1816 & 1817. He and his brother William A. Land became a land owners in and around Mifflin. His wife, who died in 1866, was awarded an additional 40 acres in Union Twp. for her husband's service in the war.
